Charlotte Byron
Charlotte Byron was born in Tasmania in 1831. Her parentage is uncertain, but she may have been the child of William Byron & Ellen Jane McAnally.
She married William Smith in Hobart on Devember 1850, and had at least one child with him:
She died in Young, NSW on 11 November, 1872.

mother's mother.
It is likely that Charlotte was my first ancestor born in Australia. In 1831 when she was born there were only about 25,000 people in all of Tasmania and about 6000 women.
